George Pickens still not clear of his Georgia football injury

Kirby Smart took the podium tonight to discuss the upcoming clash with rivals from state Georgia Tech. Like many of those weekly press conferences, a lot of time is taken to talk about Georgia’s injuries which appear to be a regular occurrence this season as Georgia continually try to bring the players back to full force.

He even provided an update on the recovery of George Pickens. The offshore star recovering from a spring tear ACL that occurred during training last offseason.

Last Tuesday, he indicated that Pickens was continuing his recovery by working on the Boy Scout team. However, Smart added, “I don’t know the timeline, I would like to know.”

“We had George in practice catching passes against air routes, but that’s really what you all saw. He had more competitive times in terms of scouts and appearance and confidence building, being able to take on some DBs and others. but he doesn’t take reps with one or two offense because we don’t know when he’ll be ready. “

He added that Pickens took some reps from the second and third teams. Smart offered another update this week by informing media that Pickens was still not cleared, even after dressing for warm-ups against Charleston Southern.

Georgia’s receiving corps is just starting to regain overall health after several backers missed time in the first half of the season. George Pickens’ return could elevate the position further as they look to push for a national title.
