Georgia and Alabama will meet for the fifth time in the Kirby Smart era. At this point, former Kirby Smart boss Nick Saban has yet to lose to his former defensive coordinator in their previous four clashes. The last two clashes have featured the biggest points differential, with Georgia dropping 17 points (41-24) in consecutive seasons.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban met the media on Monday and answered several key questions about his football team, including a Saban-like response about the availability and health of his offensive line :
Hope we get some guys back.
One of the toughest jobs for this Alabama defense will be limiting Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.
“I think this guy is one of the best players in college football. He’s physical, he’s tough, he’s got wide catcher skills in all his forms. It is difficult for the big guys to cover it and for the little ones to cover it. He has been extremely productive in many ways.
Bowers had 139 yards on 10 catches, also adding two touchdowns.
